Inspiration

Receipts and warranty cards end up on the family NAS as phone photos and PDFs, spread over many folders. When an appliance breaks, nobody knows if it is still under warranty, and contracts renew because a notice date was missed. These papers hold personal data, so a cloud app is a poor fit.

What it does

Household Paper Trail reads receipt photos and PDF papers stored on the NAS and builds one dated ledger of warranties and contract deadlines. It pairs receipts with warranty cards and contracts, calculates end and cancel-by dates, and shows an "act soon" list. Every ledger line links back to its evidence files. Unsure matches and missing dates are asked, not guessed.

How we built it

A UGOS Skill (SKILL.md plus seven reference files) that coordinates UGREEN's file, photo, document and knowledge agents through delegation only. Each step states its scope, write limits and output fields. Every write (ledger, tags, album) needs an explicit yes after a preview. Nothing is moved, deleted or overwritten, and only on-device models are used.

Status and next steps

The Skill package passes the official offline checker with 0 errors and 0 warnings. It has not run on a real NAS yet. With NAS access we will test OCR quality, extracted warranty periods and the number of approval prompts, using a 12-file synthetic test set.

AI use

Claude (Anthropic) helped draft the Skill text and the English answers under the participant's direction; the participant reviewed them. At run time the Skill uses only the AI models on the NAS.
