HouseCall

Inspiration

What inspired us to make this project is that one of our group members has a grandparent in a rural community that has to commute for three hours just to get basic health care. We wanted to find a way to help improve the availability of healthcare in communities like this.

What it does

HouseCall provides an accessible hub to access things like, a medication schedule, health information and a easily digestible overview of the patients general health from your own home, along with your appointment schedule to help ease the distance between rural communities and their healthcare.

How we built it

After spending the first few hours discussing what healthcare providers and their patients may need in an app, we opened figma and began laying out what our main pages that would get daily usage out of its users

Challenges we ran into

At first we were very focused on wanting to code the project, but we eventually realized that we were asking too much of ourselves and its better to go with a finished prototype design that a very limited code-based project. We also ran into hiccups with learning the program figma as none of us had used or heard of it before

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An accomplishment that we are proud of is that we had some hiccups throughout the weekend, but we were able to work through them as a team and together come up with a solution together. We are also proud out our ability to quickly learn a new software that none of us had used before to design a prototype for our app

What we learned

One thing that we all learned is how to work with figma, and how to design a prototype, none of us had done anything like this before and we all think that it was a great learning experience.

What's next for HouseCall

If we were to decide to take this app to the next level, we would want to focus on make the app functional and discussing with people in the healthcare sector about what they would find useful and get their experience to help futher and better our project
