We are sick of dead parties with lame vibes. That is exactly why we made a House party DJ that adapts to the audience (expression, noise level, movement) to recommend the perfect soundtrack when the environment changes thus keeping the energy high. We built it by leveraging MCP and Spotify API as well as using the OpenCV library. Inevitably, we faced numerous obstacles along the way. For instance, we attempted using Flask for frontend but couldn't get it working. Moreover, we faced issue in using Spotify API, which required the developer to have 25 users for the Spotify account in order to use a specific API function. At last, we have successfully integrated the tools and invented a working prototype of a house party DJ. We are proud of the fact that we successfully harnessed the power of MCP and different kinds of library with APIs in such a short amount of time. From this hackathon, we learned about the importance of delegating tasks clearly and facilitating effective communication and teamwork. We could add more features to House party DJ by adding more environment input like temperature etc.
