When planning one's trip, people always tend to refer to photos taken before. Instagram, as an open platform for photo sharing, with its delicately designed filters, is among the best choices for the hotels/attractions pictures display.
So we take attractions in Boston for instance. With the location-attractions REST API provided, we fetch a list of top hottest attractions of specific location(city), take the attraction name as a tag(#fenwaypark), and use Instagram API to return a list of photos with that certain tag.
The local non-sql database is kept updating, with a considerable amount of photos stored in it. For each tag, we search through the database, retrieve a list of photos with that tag, and compare these photos to pick the one with most likes. Then this certain photo, among many more photos, each of which represents one hottest attraction, is shown on our website homepage.
We believe this will help Trip Advisor users build a better and more intuitive impression of the place/hotel in his/her possible travel plan.
