Inspirations
Interest in creating our first mobile application for our first ever hackathon.
What it does
Our interactive map HotSpots shows users the top 5 countries that contribute and top 5 countries affected by carbon emissions and climate change.
How we built it
Our team built the software using Flutter and mainly using the programming language Dart to program the needed widgets.
Challenges we ran into
One of our biggest challenges was find the proper documentation and understanding the complicated syntax of Dart.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
All three of us were able to learn how to efficiently program in Flutter, and successfully integrate it with the Google Maps API.
What we learned
We learned that hackathons are very amazing, and they offer many opportunities.
What's next for HotSpots?
As Junior Mentors of a FIRST Robotics Team, we will use this application as a template to teach the interested members of our team how to program simple mobile applications.
