Hotkey modifier chrome extension

Inspiration

Certain video/browser games require certain combinations that are difficult to perform, by setting an easier yet rare combination, you can do it more easily.

What it does

Users can enter a combination that, when called, performs another more complicated combination to make certain repetitive things less hassle.

How we built it

I asked OpenAI lots of questions, with the initial framework modified from the Google Chrome gitHub tutorial samples.

Challenges we ran into

Sometimes it would just be an easy syntax fix such as missing semicolons, or commas in the wrong places but the chatbot gives a 6 paragraph answer.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I learned different versions of manifest, especially 2, and have had many changes. Successfully unpacked the extension onto my Chrome profile.

How to set up a framework for Chrome extensions. I also learned that Chrome Apps and Extensions are different things.

What's next for Hotkey modifier chrome extension

An easier user interface, right now it is just a basic HTML. In the future, it could appear in the workshop.
