Inspiration
Whenever we travel, it takes a lot of time in going through all the hotel websites to find the hotel per your preferences. There is nothing today to suggest the hotels based on your previous stays.That's what inspired me to build this product.
What it does
It asks you to login in to the app then it does processing in the background and provide you hotel suggestions for you next trip based on your preferences.
How I built it
- For the transactions I have used Plaid API.
- To check your travel destination, I have used amadeus api.
Challenges I ran into
- Getting the relevant information from all the apis was bit challenging.
- Keeping the application simple and easy to use.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Understanding the apis and able to pull the data to make a working product.
What I learned
It was a heck of learning experience
- Power of using REST APIs
- Learned routing and resource management in AngularJS
- Think from a end user's perspective rather than a developer
What's next for Hotelite
It can be extended to different categories ( restaurants, flights, travel spots).
