Inspiration
We wanted to solve a practical problem that benefits people; this application is useful to help aid the search for affordable hotels within a desired location.
What it does
At the current state, this application will grab input from the user and use that to output Google Hotel search results into a JSON file for use elsewhere.
How we built it
We used Python and and SerpApi!
Challenges we ran into
Finding a free API to use with just enough free queries to allow us to test. We wanted to see what resources we can use online that does not require a subscription or expense.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we made an application that grabs a JSON file opens up a lot of potential opportunities to use this in many front facing applications.
What we learned
API integration with Python as well as basic HTML requests.
What's next for Hotel API JSON Grabber
We hope to continue to evolve this application to make a full front-end that displays the JSON search results in user friendly manner that will stand out from other hotel search websites.. and without ads.
