Hot Take Generator

Inspiration

I was inspired by how fast people form strong opinions online—and wanted to poke fun at that culture by creating a humorous app that dishes out spicy, bold, and ridiculous “hot takes.”

What it does

The Hot Take Generator gives users randomly selected hot takes (funny or absurd opinions) and lets them vote using 🔥 (agree) or 🧊 (disagree). It also shows which take is currently the most upvoted.

How we built it

I built it entirely using Bolt.new, generating the app UI and logic using Bolt’s prompt-to-app interface. All data is stored in memory and displayed interactively. I used emojis for a fun, engaging vibe.

Challenges we ran into

The hardest part was finding the right way to store and tally votes using Bolt’s native tools. Bolt’s simplicity helped, but it required a few prompt tweaks to get right.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that the whole app was built in under 10 minutes and still feels polished and fun to use! Also proud i stayed 100% inside the Bolt platform.

What we learned

I learned that humor-based projects can still demonstrate interactivity and technical decision-making, especially when using low-code tools creatively.
