Inspiration
When I was a child, I really liked to play cooking games, but most of them involved playing with the pizza shop. As a student from China, I really want to explore cultural differences and create my own game that I like. Hot pot is my favorite food, so we finally decided to do so.
What it does
This is a game where the player is actually running a hot pot restaurant and making a personal hot pot for each customer in a limited time. And after the player serves the hot pot for the customer, they will get feedback which have the grade of how the customer likes their meal, which we think is pretty interesting.
How we built it
We built this game based on the Twine Game app, and used both HTML format and embedded JavaScript into the game so that we could build the environment of the game.
Challenges we ran into
How the twine game could adapt and run through all CSS and JavaScript was the most challenging thing we encountered.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We finally make a real game that is able to play.
What we learned
We learned that the flexibility of coding should be when we are using different tools.
What's next for Hot Pot restaurant?
I think we could do a more challenging level for the game, and also decorate more for the restaurant page.
