Inspiration
As students, we saw how difficult it is to find a good hostel. Most people have to visit places physically or depend on others. Hostel owners also struggle with managing bookings and complaints, so we wanted to build a simple solution for both.
What it does
Hostellify is a platform that helps students find and book hostels بسهولة. It also allows them to submit complaints. Hostel owners can manage bookings and handle complaints in one place.
How we built it
We built Hostellify using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript for the frontend, and PHP with MySQL for the backend. Our goal was to keep everything simple and user-friendly.
Challenges we ran into
We faced issues while connecting frontend and backend. Managing bookings without errors and designing a simple complaint system were also challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a working full-stack project that solves a real problem. The booking system and complaint feature are fully functional.
What we learned
We learned how to work as a team, build a full-stack application, and handle real-world problems like booking systems and user management.
What's next for Hostellify
We plan to add online payments, reviews, and location-based search to improve the platform.
