✨ Inspiration As the founder and CEO of Venli, my background is in hospitality, studying at Boston University. I’ve always been obsessed with how people explore the world. Over the past three years, I taught myself everything from project management to frontend, backend, and APIs, and when ChatGPT advanced its coding capabilities, I dove into JavaScript and Python. Today, with tools like Bolt, I’ve become a full stack engineer, building products that bridge AI with real-world impact.

For this hackathon, I built Venli Travel Hub to solve a problem I see every day:

Travelers waste hours switching between Google, blogs, maps, and booking sites just to plan a single trip. They want an experience that feels like talking to an expert travel agent – instant, personal, and actionable.

🛠️ What I Built: Venli Travel Hub Venli Travel Hub is a conversational AI travel planner that reimagines the trip planning experience.

It starts with a search bar and interactive globe, letting you explore the world visually.

You can jump into maps mode to browse by location, or enter the Travel Agent mode, where an AI agent engages you in conversation with live suggestions, images, and details as you chat.

Once you’re ready, you pick your dates and preferences, and Venli generates a complete itinerary for you – including flights, accommodations, and daily plans, all in one seamless flow.

Built with:

OpenAI GPT-4o for conversational AI and planning

Supabase for data, auth, and storage

Netlify for frontend hosting

JavaScript, Python, React Native, Next.js, Bolt, and integrations with supplier APIs for flights, stays, and activities

💡 What I Learned How to design conversational UX that guides users from inspiration to booking.

Building structured outputs and agentic planning to transform open-ended conversations into detailed, bookable itineraries.

Optimizing real-time API performance for a smooth, interactive user experience.

⚠️ Challenges I Faced Developing Venli Travel Hub as a solo founder-engineer within the hackathon timeframe, balancing:

Frontend and backend buildout

Supplier API integrations for real-time flight and hotel data

Designing agentic workflows that remain fail-safe and intuitive
