Inspiration
We have been tasked with creating a coding project that addresses one of the UN’s 17 sustainable goals. The goal we picked was Goal 3, “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”. The inspiration we used for these were simulator/rpg games where the actions are up to you.
What the game does
In the medical game, you are the hospital receptionist, and on your first day, you encounter 6 patients who have made appointments. Do you want to learn more about them? Or do you want to turn them away and face the consequences.
How we built it
We used Scratch for the code and Canva and Picrew for the graphics.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge we faced was coding each individual patient and button. Other than that, the only challenge we really had was time due to us making the graphics and coding on Scratch at the same time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Eitan is proud of the amount of code and progress we made, while I'm proud of how we managed to do this together. We’re both proud that we made a full game with different choices that really work!
What we learned
We learned how to code better and manage time better, as well as work together as a team.
What's next for Hospital Simulator
Next, if we both have time, we want to add more patients, harder choices and options, and maybe include treatments so that the player can better understand.
