Inspiration
Finding nearby hospitals quickly can be crucial in emergencies. The idea was inspired by the need for a simple and efficient way to locate hospitals based on a user's real-time location.
What it does
It allows users to find hospitals near them by fetching real-time hospital data using Google Places API. Users enter their location geolocation, and the system displays nearby hospitals with details like name, contact, and pincode.
How we built it
Backend: Built with Django and Django REST Framework for handling API requests.
API Integration: Used Google Places API to fetch nearby hospitals based on user coordinates.
Frontend : Integrated with Django templates to display results visually on a map.
Challenges we ran into
- Getting accurate user location data and handling location permissions.
- Optimizing API calls to ensure fast and reliable responses.
- Parsing and displaying data in a user-friendly way.
- Managing API rate limits and handling errors effectively.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Created a functional API endpoint that returns hospital details based on location. 2.Designed a simple and scalable backend for future improvements
What we learned
- Handling geolocation and working with map-based data.
- Optimizing Django for API responses.
- Debugging real-world API request errors
What's next for Untitled
