Inspiration
Helping hospitals with supply shortage Our inspiration came from the current pandemic. Several hospitals experienced a shortage of medical equipment; most notably, personal protective equipment and ventilators. To keep up demand, hospitals began sharing ventilators. We hope hospitals continue to reach out to one another after the pandemic curbs.
What it does
Allows hospitals to send and receive requests to transfer supplies. Hospitals workers should be able input the supplies they have excess of and are willing to share. If they are in need of supplies, they can go to the home page and search up the equipment. A list of hospitals with the equipment available should show up, sorted by distance.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, BOOTSTRAP for web development. In order to communicate with IBM Cloudant, we used python and flask. We used javascript to update a json file, which contains data from IBM Cloudant.
Challenges we ran into
Setting up IBM Cloudant.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of using IBM Cloudant database and being able to read the data using Python.
What we learned
We had trouble setting up IBM Cloudant and learning to use flask in order to update the cloudant database.
What's next for hospilink
Adding real hospital information, and verifying hospitals and staff. The website should only be accessible to hospitals staffs .
