Challenges we ran into## Inspiration
HormoneLens was inspired by a deeply personal experience. After being diagnosed with PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease), I constantly struggled to understand how my daily lifestyle choices were affecting my hormonal health. Questions like what should I eat, how much exercise should I do, and how stress or sleep patterns influence hormones were difficult to answer clearly.
While exploring available solutions, I realized that most health platforms provide generic recommendations, but hormonal health is extremely personal and dynamic. What works for one person may not work for another.
This challenge inspired the creation of HormoneLens, an AI-powered platform designed to help users understand how lifestyle decisions impact hormonal and metabolic health before symptoms worsen.
Problem
Hormonal disorders such as PCOS, insulin resistance, and metabolic imbalance affect millions of people worldwide. However, most digital health tools focus on tracking symptoms rather than predicting outcomes.
Users often struggle with questions like:
- How will my diet affect my hormonal balance?
- Can better sleep improve metabolic health?
- What lifestyle changes will actually reduce long-term risks?
Without predictive insights, people often rely on trial and error when managing their health.
Solution
HormoneLens introduces an AI-powered digital twin simulation platform that helps users visualize the potential impact of their lifestyle choices.
The platform analyzes lifestyle inputs such as sleep patterns, diet habits, stress levels, and physical activity. Using AI models, it simulates possible metabolic outcomes and generates personalized insights.
Instead of simply providing static advice, HormoneLens allows users to explore how different lifestyle decisions may influence their hormonal health over time.
How It Works
HormoneLens follows a simple workflow:
- The user enters lifestyle information such as sleep duration, diet habits, and activity levels.
- The system processes this information using AI models.
- A simulation engine calculates metabolic and hormonal risk indicators.
- The platform displays results through an interactive dashboard.
- Users receive actionable insights to improve their lifestyle choices.
This approach transforms health insights from reactive advice into predictive guidance.
Technology Stack
HormoneLens is built using modern web and AI technologies.
Frontend
- React.js
- JavaScript
- HTML
- CSS
Backend
- Laravel
- PHP
AI & Simulation
- Amazon Nova Pro via AWS Bedrock
Cloud Infrastructure
- AWS EC2
Visualization
- Three.js for interactive health simulations
Innovation
The key innovation of HormoneLens is the concept of a personal metabolic digital twin.
Instead of simply answering health questions, the platform simulates possible outcomes of lifestyle changes. This allows users to experiment with healthier habits and understand their long-term effects.
By combining AI insights with simulation technology, HormoneLens transforms health management into an interactive and predictive experience.
Impact
HormoneLens has the potential to improve how individuals manage hormonal health.
By helping users understand the consequences of lifestyle choices earlier, the platform can support better decision-making and reduce long-term health risks.
The system can also be expanded to support other health conditions such as metabolic disorders, lifestyle diseases, and preventive health monitoring.
Future Scope
Future versions of HormoneLens could include:
- Integration with wearable devices
- Continuous metabolic monitoring
- Personalized AI health coaching
- Real-time lifestyle impact simulations
The long-term vision is to shift healthcare from reactive treatment to proactive health prediction.
Conclusion
HormoneLens began as a personal response to the challenges of living with PCOD, but it has grown into a broader idea: using AI to help people understand their bodies better.
By combining AI-powered insights with simulation technology, HormoneLens aims to empower individuals to make smarter lifestyle decisions and take control of their hormonal health.
