Inspiration

The inspiration behind Horizon stems from the need to revolutionize the traditional hiring process and create a more efficient and effective solution for both employers and candidates. We recognized the challenges faced by job seekers, students, and employers in navigating the complex hiring landscape and wanted to provide a comprehensive platform that addresses these pain points.

What it does

Horizon is a web app powered by Django that offers a wide range of features and services to streamline the hiring journey. It allows job seekers and students to create profiles, search for job and internship opportunities, and submit resumes. Our intelligent resume screening tools analyze and match resumes with job requirements, increasing candidates' chances of getting shortlisted. Additionally, our platform offers mentor-led skill enhancement through video chatting, connecting candidates with experienced professionals who provide guidance and feedback to boost their employability.

For employers, Horizon simplifies the recruitment process by providing access to a diverse pool of qualified candidates. Employers can review shortlisted candidates' profiles, conduct interviews, and make job offers through our platform. We also provide performance insights and feedback to help employers track the progress of their hired employees and make informed decisions.

How we built it

Horizon was built using Django, a high-level Python web framework, to develop the backend and frontend components of the web app. We utilized various web technologies, databases, and APIs to implement the features and services offered by Horizon, including resume screening, skill assessments, and mentor-led video chatting. Our team worked collaboratively, leveraging their expertise in software development, user experience (UX) design, and data analytics to create a robust and user-friendly hiring solution.

Challenges we ran into
