Horizon
Your face is the mass. The garment is the light that still escapes.
Horizon is the product we built for the YouCam API Skin AI & Apparel VTO Hackathon. Ten ideas were considered (see docs/IDEAS.md). We picked the Interstellar one: not a filter — a computation.
YouCam Skin Analysis is telemetry. The worst ui_score sets a Schwarzschild radius. A photon ring and an accretion sheet are integrated, the way Gargantua was, not decorated. YouCam Apparel VTO (cloth-v4) is the IMAX plate: you, in the one garment that still gets out the door, with a reason a person would say.
Topic: Skin AI + Apparel VTO. The package name remains lastlook (the doorway). The instrument is Horizon.
Why this exists
Gallery after gallery already does color seasons, wardrobe digitization, or “here is a skin score / here is a try-on.” The official brief is more specific: people wonder about their skin right before they leave, right after a bad morning, in front of a mirror. LastLook is that last ninety seconds. Clothes are treated as kindness to today’s skin, not as a catalog.

Run
Python 3.10+. No Node required.
cd LastLook
python3 -m venv .venv && source .venv/bin/activate
pip install -e .
# optional live key
export YOUCAM_API_KEY="…"
# one mirror/purchase moment (CLI)
python -m lastlook look --selfie fixtures/selfie.jpg --fixture
# the intended device: Safari at
python -m lastlook serve --port 8766
# open http://127.0.0.1:8766
Click Use the sample doorway photo or drop your own. You should see numeric skin scores, plain-language next actions, and a try-on of the same person.
Tests
pip install -e ".[dev]"
pytest
Tests drive the shipped parse / next-action / outfit-reason / run_last_look functions. Scores and the VTO URL come from official-shaped payloads, not hardcoded golden tables.
