🚀 Project Overview
Inspiration
As undergraduate students, we’ve identified that building a portfolio and showcasing our skills and talents to recruiters, both on-campus and industry employers, is very difficult due to over-saturated application pools and inconvenient web applications that cater more to organizations than potential employees. We wanted to create a student-centric solution that simplifies job discovery and increases employment opportunities for students.
What It Does
Our mobile application is a college student-focused job platform that streamlines the job search and application process with:
✅ Personalized job recommendations based on student profiles
✅ A swipe-based UI for job discovery (inspired by Tinder)
✅ Easy application tracking and saved jobs feature
✅ A profile-building system to showcase student portfolios to recruiters
How I Built It
- Designed the UI/UX in Figma, taking inspiration from social media apps for an intuitive experience
- Developed in React Native for cross-platform mobile support
- Used Firebase/Node.js (or any backend of your choice) for authentication and job data storage
Challenges I Ran Into
- Optimizing the onboarding process to balance user engagement with simplicity
