Inspiration
During the recent pandemic, there was an unexpected increase in demand and supply of medicines which on the contrary led to its wastage! Every hospital has different medical suppliers and during emergencies, these hospitals cannot collaborate and access excessive resources from nearby hospitals. The hospital may not have sufficient resources at the time of need to meet the immediate increase in demand.
What it does
Web platform for hospitals to share and connect globally and collaborate as per the emergency needs concerning the ease of geographical access. The end-users can resolve this wastage and crisis with an allocation to implement information and resource sharing through this easy-to-handle, globally accessible platform, without concerning a long procedural third party inclusion. Flexible advanced options where hospital administration/pharmacist can make a record of availability as well as the need for that particular medicine/equipment.
How we built it
The process of development started with working on the front end. We made the front pages like login, home, and inventory page running with dummy data using React, Material UI, CSS and made the routes working that it can navigate through the website.
The second part was to make the database for the hospital inventory and the hospital itself. We used mockApi for the dummy data and authenticated it in the backend. We combined the frontend and backend so that the user can see the specified data.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into were trying to figure out how to structure the data we would need, and filter out data that would not be helpful.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our application is working fine and outputting the result we expected initially. We're proud of the work we did together and how amazing UI turned out to be. Another thing we are proud of is that we used multiple technologies, such as MockApi, React, Redux to accomplish our goals.
What we learned
We learned more in-depth knowledge of React and redux. We also learned how the healthcare system works and how the use of technology can improve it. This also makes the interaction from the patient and the healthcare professional much smoother, making it a win win for both the patients and healthcare professionals
What's next for HopNet
The next for HopNet is to get the real database of the hospitals and their inventory. So, that the commoners can use this website in the time of crisis.
