Inspiration
We were inspired by Fourth and Hopes mission to help the unhoused and homeless. Something that really resonated with us was being able to create a simple need based and focused solution. We determined that data was one of the biggest issues that non profits can run into, and the inability to draw meaningful conclusions from this data. This is why we decided to create a business dashboard and AI analysis tool which can do just that!
What it does A customizable business dashboard that caters to all the client needs. Businesses need simple, clean and easy ways to use and access data, all features of our dashboard. We wanted to create a simple tech solution that could be used by not as technologically savy customers, but provided them with all the necessary tools they needed to grow. We integrated a smart AI tool which can answer question, provide meaningful summaries and analysis, and even generate graphics based on custom data that is uploaded by the business. This can help narrow down things like locations for future outreach programs, impacted demographics, and other important statistics which are needed when working with a non profit. The client can ask targeted questions about their data as well!
How we built it
We used a combination of python in Jupyter notebook, and the Streamlit interface. We also used the gemini AI API in out dashboard to create a smart analysis tool. Part of the code and architecture was assisted by ChatGPT.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges we ran into were formatting the dashboard, integrating the AI tool into the dashboard, and most importantly time management.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Accomplishments we are proud of is creating and deploying a functional dashboard in less than 24 hours.
What we learned Throughout this process
We learned a lot about designing, formatting. We were also working with an API for the first time so it was a fun process learning the ins and outs of it.
What's next for Hopelens
We hope to work with Fourth and Hope to expand on this project, and hopefully implement it to solve their everyday data needs.
