Our inspiration came from the need to address gaps in volunteer recruitment, retention, and engagement at Hope Worldwide. We learned that clear guidance, recognition, and structured training are essential for volunteer success and satisfaction. To build the project, we designed a two-stage toolkit incorporating general and program-specific training, with input from experienced volunteers. The main challenges we faced were balancing simplicity and depth in the toolkit and ensuring it met the diverse needs of all programs.
