Inspiration

According to our survey on issues with respect to Hopkins dining hall, we found that over 85% of participants think that it is a good idea to have access to daily menu and estimate waiting time at different dining halls around the campus.

What it does

It shows the map of the campus, provides the total number of people in the dining halls in real-time, and tells users the daily menus and expected waiting time.

How we built it

We used android-studio to write front-end code, and figma and photoshop to implement user interface. We also used Python to conduct statistical analysis and math modeling.

Challenges we ran into

Learning how to write front-end and analyzing the math modeling from scratch.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to combine complex algorithms with dynamic interface that takes in real world data that solves real world problems.

What we learned

We learned how to use android-studio and making UI.

What's next for Hop on Dining

We will collect more data from students and Hopkins Dining to improve the accuracy of our math modeling.
