The inspiration for this project was a very famous and respected player Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant was recognized for his game and his mamba mentality. He really wanted to show people that they can be inspired and great in whatever they do. Sadly, Kobe Bryant passed away, so I wanted to continue his legacy of inspiring the game of basketball to the next generation of young basketball players.
What it does
It is an organization that takes high schoolers who have previous basketball experience as volunteers to mentor young kids to play basketball. A website was created for this project so that young kids can sign up and be up to date on the NBA and WNBA.
How we built it
I have built the website through Weebly and edit an introduction video on what HOOPS FOR FREE was all about on iMovie.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the challenges that I ran with were audio issues with the video and publishing the website without paying. At the begging of some of my clips the audio was very low, so I solved this issue by adding subtitles in the video, so the viewers can understand what I'm saying. When I was publishing the website, it didn't show how to publish a link without paying, so after some research, I realized that I had to publish it as a subdomain so that people can view it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Some of the accomplishments that I was proud of where the quality of the video and making my website as creative as I can.
What we learned
I learned how to navigate through creating my own website using Weebly and creating a video by using iMovie to express my idea about the organization.
What's next for HOOPS FOR FREE
I hope that I can assemble a team for HOOPS FOR FREE and inspire young individuals around the world to learn the sport of basketball completely for free.
