Inspiration

This project was inspired by OLX. But unlike OLX, Honest Share is a place to share your blessings. Things other people need more than you. Things like something you don't use too often, or have no space to keep.

What it does

It allows you to share things that you don't use often or have no space to keep, with other people.

How we built it

This project was made with React, React-Router, and Bootstrap as the frontend. Node and Express as the backend. Finally with MongoDB as the database. Also with some love :)

Challenges I ran into

While making the filter menu (for filtering the items in the selected category) it used to clash with the search results. I was eventually able to fix it with some debugging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am grateful that I learned to make a full-stack app for the first time. In the process, I also learned things like routing and calling endpoints and assigning it to the React's local state.

What we learned

While making this project I was introduced to technologies like Axios and React-Router. I learned how to call endpoints as well as implement instant routing.

What's next for Honest Share

I'll be sure to add some authentication features (I couldn't implement them because of the time limit). I'll also complete the about and the individual product pages as well as refactor the whole code :)
