In today's society, murder cases are a rampant issue. But thankfully, data suggests that homicide cases are on a downward trend and this is what our project is doing, we are analyzing the data and proving this statement.

What it does

Analyses the data and correlated factors to compare and visualize the data. Predict the future trend of the crime rates across US and India.

How we built it

The Preprocessing and basic visualization was done using python. Advanced analyses of data plotting was done using tableau. The prediction model(ARIMA) was implemented using python.

Challenges we ran into

Lack of recent data of new states(telangana). Lack of data for the years 2019-2020. The withdrawal data form the analysis because of the use of test data.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully implemented time series forecasting model ARIMA to predict the trend with high accuracy. That we found that homicide rates have reduced over the years.

What's next for Homicide Rate Analysis

To get more relevant data for more accurate and intuitive analysis. Improve the number of train and test samples used in ARIMA.
