Inspiration
Games allows us to go beyond failure while engaging our curiosity and imagination, what better why to encourage kids to learn than to play games while learning. Particularly for those in the Caribbean who have little to no representation, but whose culture is known and loved around the world. We wanted to share both experiences with he world.
What it does
Platform helps kids learn curriculum based content in the form of games that guide them every step of the way.
How we built it
We use a game engine to bring our curriculum based games to life..( C# and python)
Challenges we ran into
Striking a balance between parents/caregivers only seeing it as a game , and kids only seeing it as work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully found a way to compress our video tutorial files to allow for the platform to be mostly offline , which is important for users in areas with limited internet connection( normally in 3rd world countries).
What we learned
We learned the importance of listening to all parties/stackholders involved mostly aided by empathy and understanding for both technical and non technical points of view.
What's next for HomeWork Club
To expand the platform by continuing to create great educational content in the form of games and animations to expand the world of our users while allowing them to seamlessly learn curriculum based content.
