Inspiration

UW students and homeless people around the U District area share a common living environment. We belong to one community. Our group decided to build an informational website serves as a bridge between UW students and homeless people around the University District, providing students with information about homelessness and providing homeless people with resources, such as information on housing, food, and employment.

What it does

To create a informational and interactive website to get more people involved in helping with the homelessness situation around U district

How we built it

Write down all of our ideas and thoughts, narrow them down, draw rough sketches, and eventually put them together to become attractive prototypes on figma.

Challenges we ran into

Figma is hard to use. It also has some system glitches where it does not the picture that we pasted into the prototype when previewing. The interaction design options are also hard to navigate.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

With the teamwork effort, we successfully made some attractive prototypes and unique functionalities that align with our purposes for this project. We are not just producing something meaningful from this project, we are also making connections with each other.

What we learned

We learned a lot about the homelessness since we had to do a tons of research to make this project. I gained a better understanding of what it means be a change.

What's next for Homeskies

Build up an online database that records and tracks resource information for homelessness around U-District area Providing homeless people with information on resources, such as housing, food, and employment.
