Inspiration
The prime inspiration was the theme of Who Done It Hacks. Above it, "detective","thriller" etc. are the words that have always fascinated me. The theme helped reawaken the "detective" feeling in me which was lost somehow and thus I started working!
What it does
The main idea is that of a detective game. There are 2 homes where 2 different crimes have taken place. The user's goal is to solve the clues which are basically riddles and mini-games and catch the culprit. There is a section that shows who has completed at least one case.
How I built it
I used HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, NODEJS, express, and MongoDB to complete this project.
Challenges I ran into
There were a few obstacles I ran into while solving this project. Firstly, there were problems when I was using MongoDB since I am not so accustomed to it. Also, masking the id was another problem.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I am proud of the fact that I was able to achieve what I wanted using MongoDB since it was a new skill for me.
What I learned
I learned about MongoDB.
What's next for Homes Of Holmes
I plan to introduce a random detective name generator and more competitive rounds.
