Inspiration
As university students, the process of finding off-campus housing can be overwhelming with the large number of listings available. Our team wanted to address this issue and make the process easier for fellow students.
What it does
Homeful is a web application that helps Queen's students find the optimal off-campus accommodation.
There are two main features of Homeful: filtering and visualizing.
Filtering: users can apply filters to the available housing listings to search by location comparison between amenities, rent, rooms.
Visualizing: users can navigate through an interactive map to see housing options.
How we built it
Homeful was built using JavaScript and Python. Housing data was scraped with Selenium and BeautifulSoup, then cleaned and processed with pandas. The web application was created with Wix.
