Inspiration :
We're 2nd year engineering students who didn't get the choice of exploring other places around our college which had better accommodation facility than the hostel we reside in currently. Call it lack of time, and awareness but it really would have been great if we got list of rooms on rent in one place, and even better if we could visit them without being actually physically present! So, we made HOMEASE!
HOMEASE - is an android application for AR/VR
• AR / VR :
- Built on Unity 3D engine
- Google ARCore SDK - for AR Navigation, Measurement
- Google VR, and Google Cardboard - for VR exposure to the rooms on rent
- Polycam - for 3D Models of rooms - that allow us to walk inside room using gvr. (Even without a VR headset and controller)
- C# - for scripting
• Android :
- XML (Scripting)
- Kotlin (Backend)
- Firebase (Cloud Storage)
- APIs (Appyhub)
What it does :
• Allows logins in two different ways - Owner's and Tenant's
• Owner will put up his requirement of a tenant and tenant will submit their preferences about the locality nd other amenities.
• Based on the two inputs, match will be made. The tenant will be allowed to gain access to the VR based presence of them in the rooms on rent.
• Normally, in 360 degree videos, and images we can only move our heads while in our app we have enabled the feature of even walking inside the rooms virtually.
• Our VR implementation does not limit us from gaining immersive experience, because it works with or without a headset and controllers.
