Inspiration

I want to get rid of physical keys to make more space in my wallet.

How it works

phone places a RESTful call to the server. Server authenticates it, checks permissions and then forwards the command to an arduino. Arduino activates the right pin to trigger a relay. Relay powers the desired appliance.

Challenges I ran into

Authentication: how do. Obviously knackering this aspect could let someone unwanted into my home so I took it very seriously.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

convincing my roommates to help subsidize it.

Wishlist of features: control over analog devices with PWM's (eg dimmers). Forwarding sensor data from the home to the phone.
