How we built it
nodejs, arduino,firebase, reactjs, figma
What our project does
The system is able to read a series of sensors such as temperature, air quality, co2 and touch and use them to notify a use of their home. When there is a change in these values there is a message which is sent to slack and the user is notified. There is also a mobile app which the user is able to arm and disarm the system in addition to know if the sensor is in a good range of values and is safe. There is green for safe and red for danger. There is also a web application which allows the user to see the values of the sensors on the web page, it will be updated when the values change or if they are in a dangerous range(edited)
what did we learn
Through out this project each member got to get a hands on experience using Arduino. Along with that each member learned new skills in node.js, react.js and firebase which 50% of member's did not know before hand. This was a very good learning experience and hoping to use our skills we learned today in other MLH hackathons and/or Jobs.(edited)
Challenges we faced
One of the challenges that we face were connecting to firebase live database. There were not instruction on the firebase site which helped thoroughly to full utilize the projects.
What to do next
Next steps would be to work on the mobile app and set up real world testing with beta users and possibly aquiring seed funding. Figma link to mobile app design: https://www.figma.com/file/PTNBfScIGnmtTxCuXc6EG4/toHacks-Hoda-Mobile-Mockup?node-id=0%3A1
