Inspiration

Medicines can cure diseases, but if expired medicines are flushed down the toilet, when the drug ingredients flow from the sewer into the river and pollute the soil, the earth will become sick! The team of the Environmental Engineering Institute of National Taiwan University has conducted long-term research and found thousands of drug residues in Taiwan's rivers. The research team also mentioned that even with sewage treatment plants, some emerging pollutants cannot be treated and decomposed. Although such pollutants have the risk of endangering human health or environmental ecology, they have not been fully investigated or monitored, so they have not yet been formally regulated internationally. Not only Taiwan has related investigations, a study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States collected thousands of river water samples from 258 rivers in more than 100 countries around the world and found that more than a quarter of the rivers contained drug residues. These drug residues will not only pollute the environment, but may also return to us and affect human health.

What it does

The project takes protecting the environment and caring for health as its starting point, takes AI intelligent body management of expired drugs as its entry point, applies Gemma technology to build the "Family AI Medicine Box" APP, and establishes a digital drug management platform with the family as the unit.

How we built it

Use the mobile phone to scan the drug instructions and upload the AI ​​cloud to store detailed information such as the production date and shelf life of the drug instructions, set up the automatic reminder function of expiration and the recycling method and channel prompts, and accept the dynamic management notification of the drug manufacturer.

Challenges we ran into

This is an official notice issued by the Macau region when the drug problem was checked. Before the government official website issued this notice, the patient may have purchased the drug in the hospital or retail pharmacy. How to notify the person as soon as possible?

Accomplishments that we're proud of

With the help of the "Family AI Medicine Box" dynamic management drug platform, the risk of drug use is greatly reduced.

What's next for Home AI First Aid Kit

Grid-based supervision, family doctors and volunteer organizations are established on a community basis, and AI first aid is provided in case of emergencies; expired drugs are recycled and disposed of through qualified and formal channels; and manufacturers dynamically manage the after-sales of drugs through the platform.
