Inspiration
We were heavily inspired by the game “Uma Musume: Pretty Derby.” The game includes a similar gameplay loop woth V-Tubers
What it does
The game works by training a V-Tuber’s Wit (Stat Multiplier), Stamina (Amount of streams you can do), and Vocal Training (Increase the highest base fans you can roll for). Players have 10 turns to make choices, and can start streaming, trying to achieve the highest amount of fans per run. After a certain amount, a player’s streamer will have a boost of motivation, granting bonus turns.
How we built it
We built this through the Godot Engine
Challenges we ran into
Most challenges included learning the Godot Language and coding in the same day. We also had trouble getting some Textures/Sprites to show in the GUI and with Figuring out the game rules such as turns going into the negative and having some buttons work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of being able to learn Godot and code a mostly working game within 24 hours, with minimal bugs.
What we learned
We learned how to use Godot, Node trees, And adding scripts into the game. We also learned how to stay committed to our project
What's next for Hololive: Pretty Streamer
We have big plans for the game including a main menu, skill points, character select screen, Signature abilities, General abilities, adding more streamers, and support cards that can add bonuses to your stats.
