Hollow AI

Inspiration

The policies and regulations of the federal government are constantly changing. Large companies utilize industry leading tools like Bloomberg Government to actively respond to these changes. These tools can cost upwards of $50,000 a year, meaning that the average small to mid-size business does not have the funds to access them.

What it does

Hollow AI utilizes agentic AI to analyze the Federal Register, a daily publication of all federal affairs, in order to suggest business actions in response to changes in policy and regulations to the user. These suggestions are ordered by importance and personalized to the user’s business based on a comprehensive business profile they must create. Additionally, Hollow AI tracks relevant Federal Register publications and tags them with the corresponding topics. If the user is interested in a specific governmental agency, they can use the Deep Research function to generate a thorough summary of the agency’s recent actions.

How we built it

We used Python and FastAPI to build the backend, and React, JavaScript, and TailwindCSS to build the frontend. In order to rapidly prototype and iterate in development, we used tools such as Codex, Loveable, and TRAE. To integrate and manage the agentic AI, we used the Keywords AI gateway.

Challenges we ran into

Our team is relatively inexperienced in frontend development. As such, a challenge we faced was creating a polished and professional user interface. This was our first time creating an agentic AI application, and we struggled with integrating an agent into the backend and connecting it to our frontend. Fortunately, the Keywords AI gateway greatly helped us with this challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A notable accomplishment is this being our team’s first hackathon together. We are also proud of creating a fully-functioning and polished agentic AI application.

What we learned

We learned how to efficiently use coding tools such as Loveable, TRAE, and Codex, integrate Keywords AI, and create a polished and professional frontend.
