HOLD THAT THOUGHT

Compare today’s conclusion with your longer-term baseline — without deciding which one is the “real” you.

HOLD THAT THOUGHT is a private self-observation tool for possible mismatches between a current conclusion and the user’s longer-term baseline preferences. It does not assume that the user does not really want the current outcome, argue against the problem, diagnose PMS, or claim to directly measure an internal evaluation function.

During a difficult premenstrual window, conclusion certainty, the availability of alternatives, and the perceived cost of waiting, continuing, repairing, or asking for help may differ from the same person’s repeated observations at other times. The underlying problem may be real. The app simply makes those self-reported patterns easier to see before an irreversible action is taken.

What the user records

The real problem — what is actually happening. Conclusion certainty — how settled or self-evident each ending-oriented conclusion currently appears. Alternative availability — whether any other options currently come to mind. Perceived action cost — how difficult it currently feels to wait, continue, repair, or talk to someone. Longer-term baseline fit — how much the current conclusion feels aligned with what the user wants to value over time. Optional cycle timing — date and cycle context for repeated within-person observation.

The result transparently places the current self-reports beside the user’s saved baseline. It describes differences as possible patterns, never as a diagnosis, hidden score, or proof that the current conclusion is false.

The problem may be real. Today, we can simply notice whether the current conclusion points in the same direction as what you want to value over time.

A complete, usable flow

Save longer-term preferences and steadier decision habits. Describe the current problem separately. Record certainty, alternative availability, perceived cost, baseline fit, and optional cycle timing. View the exact self-reported values and baseline differences. Pause only an irreversible decision — not the underlying problem. Choose a review date and one reversible next step. Save up to 36 check-ins locally and observe repeated patterns across cycle timing.

Safety without conflating thoughts and immediate intent

If safety-related language appears, normal analysis pauses for one short check. The user can distinguish a distressing thought without immediate intention from immediate or uncertain danger. Safety language never changes the comparison values.

Privacy and limits

The app is not medical diagnosis, objective risk prediction, or a measurement of an internal evaluation function. It does not decide which state represents the user’s true preference. Personal entries remain in browser local storage and no sign-in is required.

Built with Codex and GPT-5.6

This final version was created from an empty new project folder in Codex. GPT-5.6, operating through Codex, was used to develop the interaction model, English interface copy, soft responsive visual system, React/TypeScript implementation, device-local repeated observations, transparent baseline comparison, safety interruption, documentation, build validation, and deployment workflow. No earlier HOLD THAT THOUGHT site or code was used as an implementation reference or source.

The deployed app itself does not call GPT-5.6 or another external AI API.
