Inspiration
We found ourselves getting distracted during Zoom classes and getting Zoom fatigue so we wanted to make something to help us and other students survive their classes more easily.
What it does
The timer splits up your class into 10 sections. Each of these sections counts down, and at the end it gives you a little reminder to stay focused or take care of your needs.
How we built it
Using our combined knowledge of Racket, we created a program that first asks how long you want the timer to run for, then runs the timer 10 times with prompts.
Challenges we ran into
We had difficulty making the timer reset every time, and making sure that the prompts were randomized every time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Keeping track of the interval that the timer had to run for and connecting two big-bang functions to run one after the other and influence each other.
What we learned
We solidified our knowledge of Racket and comfort exploring new things that we haven't explicitly learned before.
What's next for HocusFocus
Making it an executable for people who don't have Racket!
