Inspiration
Students aren't the most focused individuals and are easily distracted, so we set out to change that.
What it does
Hocus Focus allows you to input the websites that distract you the most and block them for a set amount of time that you can adjust. Need a little break for Facebook? Twitter? Reddit? Hocus Focus has you covered with a built-in break button, just don't use it too often.
How we built it
Python along with PyQt5 was used to create Hocus Focus.
Challenges I ran into
Installing PyQt and division of labor were problems that we had. We all came from different backgrounds and experience levels, from declared CS majors to casual coders, so finding a language and a project we could all collaborate on was difficult.
What we learned
Teamwork amongst varying skill levels, user interface work and debugging and troubleshooting.
Health
Studies show that structuring your studying into on and off periods is better for neural development and lowers stress levels for long-term health benefits.

Must be run as administrator on Windows.
