Hoardinger

Inspiration

A few days back I was travelling through the Delhi metro station and saw many Empty hoardings with no ads. I noticed the same with hoardings around roads so I researched a bit and found out that Small businesses want to advertise their business on these hoardings. Still, they don't know where to reach out and whom to and I found that there is a major connection gap issue between the owner and the potential renter who is interested in renting these hoardings, but couldn't do and hence I got up with this idea.

What it does

Hoardinger is designed for individuals and government entities to rent out hoarding spaces, including home walls, empty places, and banners on roads, highways, restaurants. This platform facilitates the connection between those offering hoarding spaces and Small Businesses / individuals / Companies looking to rent them on a monthly basis.

How we built it

Next.js 14: Utilizing the latest features and enhancements from the Next.js framework for a modern and efficient web application. MongoDB: Storing and managing data related to hoarding spaces and rental transactions. NodeMailer: For sending Emails shamelessly. NextAuth: For Secure Authantication. Prisma: Integrating Prisma for a type-safe database access layer in TypeScript. Tailwind CSS: Utilizing the utility-first CSS framework to streamline the styling process and ensure a responsive design. Cloudinary: Handling the storage and retrieval of images and multimedia associated with hoarding spaces.

Challenges we ran into

Implementing the send mail feature was challenging, as am new to Next.js as well as Typescript.. learnt a lot about managing server and client-side components and TypeSafety things, and also faced many challenges during deployment as this was my first project which is fully deployed.
