Quick Start

Backend

Environment Setup

Copy .env.example to .env in the backend/ directory and fill in:

  • MONGODB_URI — MongoDB Atlas connection string
  • GEMINI_API_KEY — Free from https://aistudio.google.com/app/apikey
  • JWT_SECRET & JWT_REFRESH_SECRET — Random 32+ char strings
  • EMAIL_USER & EMAIL_PASS — Gmail + App Password for OTP emails
  • ENCRYPTION_KEY — Exactly 32 characters for API key encryption
