Inspiration

Ever struggled to find "that one webpage"? We did too. Histify was born to turn your chaotic browser history into a helpful, smart assistant—because your memory deserves a break!

What it does

Histify makes your browsing history searchable and intuitive. Ask questions like "What was the lecture I watched?" or "What rock bands did I explore?" and get answers with references—no digging required!

How we built it

We combined natural language processing, BM25 search ranking, and Chrome APIs to create a fast, privacy-first tool. All data stays local for seamless, secure performance.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing performance with simplicity was tricky—fitting advanced features into browser runtime limits while keeping it user-friendly required some creative problem-solving.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Histify works! It’s fast, intuitive, and surprisingly fun to use. Plus, it keeps your data safe while delivering real-world value.

User-focused design is everything. We learned to simplify complex tech and make it meaningful, all while working within browser constraints.
