HiSecure: Transforming Cybersecurity for Everyone
Inspiration
HiSecure was inspired by a simple yet powerful idea: cybersecurity should be accessible to everyone. We noticed that many small and medium-sized businesses, as well as individuals, were left exposed because they couldn’t afford the advanced tools that large corporations use to protect themselves. The complexity and high costs of these solutions created a gap that we felt compelled to fill.
We wanted to take everything we knew about offensive security and apply it in a way that was both user-friendly and affordable. We also saw an opportunity to harness the power of generative AI agents, simulating a kind of “pseudo-reasoning” to help businesses navigate the complex world of security without needing technical expertise. Our mindset from the start was: "Designed for today, scalable for tomorrow." This allowed us to create agents that could evolve alongside more advanced AI models in the future, ensuring even better performance and precision.
What It Does
HiSecure is a platform that brings enterprise-level security analysis to anyone, whether you're a tech-savvy individual or a business with little to no IT staff. By integrating AI with well-known security tools like OWASP ZAP and Nmap, HiSecure provides powerful vulnerability scanning, web intelligence, and detailed security reporting—all in a way that’s easy to understand and act on.
What sets HiSecure apart is its ability to make complex security tasks simple. Our AI agents work in the background, conducting thorough scans of your systems and analyzing data to identify vulnerabilities that could leave you exposed. Once completed, HiSecure provides an actionable report, giving you clear steps to enhance your security.
How We Built It
We built HiSecure with the goal of making high-level cybersecurity tools accessible. We used NVIDIA AI Workbench to power the AI models that drive the platform. Tools like OWASP ZAP and Nmap are integrated into our workflow to perform the actual vulnerability scanning and web intelligence analysis.
The AI agents we developed simulate a collaborative reasoning process, working together to analyze the data they collect and cross-reference their findings. This allows HiSecure to deliver a more reliable and accurate analysis. We also wanted to ensure the platform was scalable, so it’s designed to handle everything from small-scale websites to larger infrastructures.
Given that neither of us are programmers or AI experts, we relied heavily on generative AI resources and spent countless hours learning how to integrate the technology effectively. This project was a true learning journey for both of us, requiring us to step outside our comfort zones and embrace the technical challenges head-on.
Challenges We Ran Into
One of the most rewarding challenges we encountered was working with NVIDIA Workbench AI. While the learning curve was initially steep,especially since we’re not developers, quickly became clear that the platform offered countless benefits that simplified and enhanced our development process. As we grew more familiar with its capabilities, we discovered how efficient and powerful Workbench AI is, enabling us to deploy our solution seamlessly and with incredible flexibility. This experience has been invaluable, and looking forward, we’re excited to continue using NVIDIA Workbench AI in future projects, knowing that its potential aligns perfectly with our vision for scalable, advanced cybersecurity solutions.
Another major hurdle was the lack of high-end GPUs for testing. Although we were fortunate to have access to GPUs like the RTX 3090, 3080, and 3050 through collaborations with friends, our primary development machine was a GTX 1060. This meant that each iteration took significantly longer, making the process of deploying local large language models (LLMs) frustrating at times. We ended up combining local GPU processing with external models like GPT-4o-mini to ensure we could meet the quality and performance standards we aimed for.
Finally, working with non-deterministic AI models presented its own set of challenges. While we wanted to let the AI agents explore creative solutions, we needed to ensure they produced reliable outputs to minimize false positives and prevent unnecessary alarms for users. Achieving this balance was key to delivering a product we’re proud of.
Accomplishments That We’re Proud Of
One of the things we’re most proud of is how we managed to create a platform that’s both powerful and accessible. We’ve successfully integrated AI-driven security tools in a way that even those with minimal technical knowledge can use. By making high-quality cybersecurity analysis available at low cost, we’ve opened the door for businesses and individuals who previously couldn’t afford such protection.
Another accomplishment is the development of our AI agents, which simulate a form of pseudo-reasoning. This allows HiSecure to not only scan for vulnerabilities but also deliver contextual insights that are actionable and relevant to each user’s specific environment.
What We Learned
This project taught us that when you combine professional experience with emerging technology, the results can be truly transformative. Neither of us were experts in machine learning or programming, but by leveraging the tools available to us, we were able to bring HiSecure to life.
We learned the importance of scalability and adaptability. By designing the platform with future AI models in mind, HiSecure is positioned to continue improving as technology advances. We also learned a lot about user experience, ensuring that HiSecure remains approachable for users of all technical backgrounds.
Most importantly, we learned that passion and a desire to create value can drive innovation, even when faced with technical limitations.
What’s Next for HiSecure
Looking ahead, we have exciting plans for the future of HiSecure. We aim to integrate more advanced AI models like OpenAI’s O1 and multimodal models such as Llama 3.2, which will allow our agents to handle larger and more complex data sets. This will enable deeper analysis and more accurate insights, helping reduce false positives and improve security recommendations.
We also plan to equip our agents with advanced tools for gathering evidence, performing more precise vulnerability exploitation tests, and handling wider context windows. Additionally, we aim to offer more detailed infrastructure analysis, including white-box testing (with authentication) that can evaluate application logic and even conduct code analysis to uncover vulnerabilities at the source code level.
Our vision for HiSecure is to empower small and medium-sized businesses, especially in developing countries like Colombia, where emerging technologies can have a profound impact on cybersecurity. We believe that HiSecure has the potential to make a significant difference, providing the tools and insights needed to secure digital environments in an affordable and scalable way.
HiSecure is more than just a product—it’s a vision for a safer, more secure digital world where everyone, regardless of their resources or technical knowledge, can protect themselves from the growing threats of the digital age.
