Inspiration

  • Both applicants and recruiters face an intertwined issue
  • Applicants may not have strong enough resumes or interview skills, ultimately making them unprepared
  • Recruiters may go through hundreds of applicants that simply aren't ready or just applied for applying sake

What it does

  • HireHelper trains candidates to make their application even stronger
  • HireHelper also allows candidates to signal to a given company when they are ready and interested

How we built it

  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JS
  • Backend: Python, Flask

Challenges we ran into

  • Parsing
  • Document uploading
  • Generating useful feedback

What's next for HireHelper

  • Virtual and audio interviews, with feedback being given for not just the answer, but the tone of voice and facial expression
  • Submitting your LinkedIn link as opposed to a pdf
  • Making a profile
  • If a technical interview just isn't going well at all, the user will be sent to resources (ex. if it's apparent the user lacks coding skills, they'll be sent to GeeksForGeeks to learn)
  • Possibly switching to OCR for files
