Inspiration
The inspiration behind HippoHealth comes from the need to innovate medical communication and scheduling. I recognized the challenges faced by medical professionals in managing their patients' appointments and ensuring effective communication and saw an opportunity to leverage technology to streamline these processes and improve the overall patient experience.
What it does
HippoHealth is a software platform that aims to transform the way medical professionals interact with their patients. It offers two key features: the Auto-Reminder Bot and the Smart Calendar Resource Scheduling.
The Auto-Reminder Bot utilizes advanced Nylas SDK and AI technology to read emails, create an internal calendar, and send reminders and notifications to patients. But due to Sandbox limitation, it is only limited to CRUD functionality in it's prototype stage. It is intended to be powered by natural language processing capabilities, allowing it to understand and respond to patient inquiries and requests. The backend of the web application is built using Flask and SQL Alchemy, ensuring seamless data storage and interface management for the chatbot.
How we built it
The HippoHealth platform is built using various technologies and frameworks. The Auto-Reminder Bot and the Smart Calendar Resource Scheduling feature are both intended to utilize Nylas SDK and AI technology to provide advanced functionality.
The backend of the web application is built using Flask, a Python web framework, and SQL Alchemy, a Python SQL toolkit. These technologies enable seamless data storage and management, as well as interface management for the chatbot and scheduling features.
Challenges we ran into
The Sandbox Environment is a bit too limited to get a feel of the full integration. None of the Providers were available in the Sandbox environment, but it's a great API overall, maybe next time I will purchase a license.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The Idea has been implemented using Flask and SQLite, it gives a feel of what I can do with a full Nylas API integration. The idea is also a bit more convincing when using the Prototype site.
What we learned
Nylas API has some awesome features, and it could be a marriage of innovative convenience to pair it with HippoHealth.
What's next for HippoHealth
Hopefully, I could purchase a Nylas API License and see if I can complete the full integration.
