Inspiration

High School course scheduling is laborious and manual, so we found that the hackathon was a perfect opportunity to fix this problem with automation and a little bit of AI

What it does

Based on results from a Q&A embedded into the website, HiPP autogenerates a program map of courses that the student might want to take (WIP). It will also integrate with a database to allow submission to counselors for their review and feedback.

How we built it

We used replit.com to type and run the code, and we used the coding languages HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

Challenges we ran into

Time was short, as was expected in a hackathon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was our first hackathon, and we learned not only problem-solving skills, but also video editing skills.

What we learned

Our biggest learning was how to deliver iteratively when time is short.

What's next for HiPP

Since this was a prototype, we were not able to implement a lot of the ideas we have. Examples include adding a database, a place to edit the generated map, the complete Q&A(which means more questions and more complex questions), and a feedback loop from the counselors to the student.
