Inspiration
A couple weeks back, I wen't on a hike. When I was walking. I just started thinking. I realized an app like this would bring a LOT of joy to everyday hikers
What it does
You can rate your hike and if it's difficult, If the trail isn't on the platform, you can simply add it!
How we built it
Python, Flask, SQL Alchemy, Google Maps, CSS, SHA256, the other usefull stuff
Challenges we ran into
First of all, I had no experience with google maps. I also wasn't great with SQL Alchemy. This hackathon taught me a lot
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A great UI. We(me) spend a lot of time working on it. I tried to go for a box/post-it style.
What we learned
A lot of stuff. Google Maps was my weak point, Im glad I improved on it. I also am glad I improved in SQL alchemy
What's next for HikeIt
Admin Features for sure. Probably a dark mode as well.
