Background of the problem

According to Bappenas data, currently, the productive age group (15-64) dominates the population at 68.7%. Indonesia's GDP is projected to grow to USD 5.163 trillion by 2030, placing it among the world's top five economies. However, this growth brings environmental and social challenges, including pollution, deforestation, and income inequality. Indonesia's forest coverage has significantly decreased, with nearly half of its forests over 50 years. Presently, Indonesia ranks second, after China, in contributing the highest plastic waste to the ocean. This aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Highlight of SDGs

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a program comprising 17 objectives with 169 measurable targets and set deadlines. Achieving these diverse goals encompassing environmental, social, and economic issues, governance, and partnerships requires a collective effort involving governments, academia, NGOs, the private sector, and all of society.

Application Idea

Therefore, we have created an application with the main objective of assisting in addressing the programs and issues related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its primary purpose is to encourage community participation in SDGs activities. The app provides information on various SDGs activities that people can join, such as tree planting and waste collection for organizations supporting SDGs.

Application Key Features

  • Activities, In the activity application, it is hoped that it will familiarize the community starting from small things so that it can help the SDGs program and can create a better life.

  • Events, Users can take part in an event offline and when the user has attended the event there will be a redeem code to get a point.

  • BuGuru AI, Users can increase their knowledge by using BuGuru AI, users can ask anything about sustainability.

  • Redemption Points, After users get and collect points, users can exchange their points for the available badges.

Bussines Model

In our app, users can earn points from activities and exchange points for badges as rewards. Later, the points can be used for planting trees, feeding the underprivileged, and cleaning up trash.

Market validation

Indonesia, the fourth most populous country with over 270 million people, is experiencing rapid economic growth at 5% per year. As awareness of sustainable development rises, 75% of Indonesians express interest in the SDGs application. This market validation indicates a promising opportunity for HijauKita to make a significant impact on sustainability and engage the population in creating a greener future.
