Inspiration
Challenged by Tinder CEO, Sean Rad, to create a platform for bringing people together, we set out to create a tool that battles society's obsession with technology, while using technology as the conduit. In recognizing the irony of that, we created a platform that inspires people to put their phones down and increase face to face interaction in a fun and engaging way.
Our native iOS and Android apps search for other users in your immediate vicinity (1,000ft). Tap on a user's picture to send them a push notification request for a high-five - yes, high-fives! People walk around everywhere with their phones in their faces. High-Five Banana inspires people to put down their phones for an impromptu high-five with friends, family, and passers-by alike, inciting communication between neighbors and total strangers, like they did in the good old days. Tap, High-Five, Connect. PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN AND GIMME FIVE.
Rate your high-five (creativity, fun, you decide the terms) and reward your high-five partner with a 5-banana rating! Casual pass-by with an unenthusiastic low-five and no eye-contact? 1-BANANA! Super awesomely creative full-on production high-five with costumes, theme music, and confetti? 5-BANANAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What it does
Simple log in with FB auth. Locate people around you using Google maps geolocation API. Send a "high five" request They send a response Use maps to find them "High Five"! Earn points for each high five you give! Continue on as you were, or better yet, start a conversation and connect! Compete for top banana points!

We started with lean UX and UI design PHP/MYSQL RESTful Backend Native iOS and native Android on the front end (yes this was a lot of work in 36 hours) Google / Facebook APIs
