Inspiration
As lifters, we were frustrated by bloated fitness apps and spreadsheets. We wanted a streamlined tool focused purely on effective training, smart progressions, and tracking that actually matters.
What it does
High Definition helps users build muscle with intelligent workout programming, customizable training splits, autoregulated progressions, and intuitive logging—backed by proven training principles.
How we built it
We built the MVP in Bolt.new, leveraging clean component-based UI, state management for logging/progress tracking, and dynamic data structures to customize volume and intensity per user.
Challenges we ran into • Structuring flexible training templates that adapt to user goals • Designing a UX that balances simplicity with powerful features • Keeping state persistent without full backend infrastructure
Accomplishments that we’re proud of • Created a fully functional hypertrophy-focused app in one sprint • Built a flexible engine for tracking volume, RIR, and progression • Designed a clean, distraction-free UI that lifts with the user
What we learned • The importance of tight UX for daily-use tools • How to balance program logic with UI flexibility • Autoregulation and user flow decisions go hand-in-hand
What’s next for High Definition • Add user accounts and backend persistence • Build a training engine that adapts weekly volume/intensity • Launch a beta for lifters who want to train hard, not scroll apps
